Once you follow enough feeds and newsletters, the sidebar gets competitive. Pincone gives you two tools for deciding what stays on top — one quiet, one deliberately loud.
Pinning: the quiet one
Pin a feed or inbox (from its ••• menu) and it moves to the top of the sidebar's Content section, above the alphabetical crowd. That's it — no badge, no fuss. Pinning is for the handful of sources you check daily and always want within reach.
Set Aside: the loud one
Set Aside is different: it's a flag that means "I care about this and I owe it a proper catch-up." You'll find the button in the title bar when viewing any feed or inbox.
A set-aside feed or inbox:
- jumps to the very top of the sidebar — above even your pins — wearing a little purple Set Aside sticker,
- gets its own group at the top of the search window,
- and stays flagged until you clear it yourself. Visiting the page doesn't clear it; marking things read doesn't clear it. It's deliberately naggy — a debt you owe yourself, sitting where you can't ignore it.
Cleared the backlog for real? Tap the Set Aside button again and the sticker comes off.
They're not unread counts
Unread badges answer "is there something new since my last look?" — they come and go on their own. Pin and Set Aside answer "how much do I care?" — they only change when you say so. A feed can be caught-up and set aside (you're mid-binge on the archives), or have 47 unread and no flag (some newsletters are like that, and that's okay).
