A feed that's gone quiet is usually one of three stories: the site stopped publishing, the site moved its feed, or something in between is misbehaving. Here's how to tell which one you're in.
First, the innocent explanation
Pincone checks your feeds on a regular schedule around the clock — but it can only find what sites publish. Before suspecting a bug, visit the site itself: plenty of blogs simply go quiet for weeks (we've all been there). If the site hasn't posted, there's nothing to fetch.
If the site is posting but Pincone isn't showing it
- The feed may have moved. Sites redesign and quietly relocate their RSS feed. Open the feed's ••• menu, choose Edit, and compare the feed address against what the site currently advertises (see finding a site's feed for where to look).
- Re-add it fresh. Unsubscribe and re-add the feed with the site's current feed address — the surest fix for a moved feed. Anything you saved to folders stays put; only the flowing river of posts is replaced.
- Partial feeds are a thing. Some sites only publish their latest few posts, or headlines without content. Pincone shows what the feed offers — if the feed is thin, that's the publisher's choice, not a glitch.
Still stumped?
Email us at support@pincone.com with the site's address and we'll take a look at what its feed is doing. A human will actually investigate — it's kind of our thing.
